About the PIPELINE Site Network (PSN)

The PIPELINE Site Network is a Europe-based network of responsive, continuously ready clinical trial sites with expertise in research involving pregnant individuals and infants.

The PSN operates as a “network of networks”, leveraging the expertise and infrastructure of the established European research networks within the PIPELINE Consortium including Penta-ID Network, Ecraid CLIN-Net, VACCELERATE, ReSViNET and conect4children.

To support the PSN, and strengthen pandemic preparedness, National Coordinators were identified across Europe.  The National Coordinators provide advice on local research infrastructure, legislation and policies; support stakeholder and site engagement and act as project ambassadors for PIPELINE in their countries.

Sites in the PSN conduct maternal-infant clinical research and mobilise rapidly during epidemics and pandemics to run adaptive platform trials focused on pregnant individuals, newborns and young children.

What the PSN does

  • Conduct maternal-infant clinical research
Sites identified in PIPELINE can conduct adaptive platform trials in pregnancy and infancy.
  • Pandemic Preparedness
Mobilise trial sites and National Coordinators quickly to deliver an immediate research response during outbreaks and emergencies.
  • Maintain readiness
Keep sites primed for research, through a central hub of training and capacity building tools to strengthen site capacity to run adaptive platform trials.

The Central Data Repository (CDR)

The CDR, developed by the Cohort Coordination Board, is an online database of European clinical studies on infectious diseases with epidemic or pandemic potential. It brings together clinical research studies and clinical trials, including adaptive platform trials, conducted across Europe. The PIPELINE-RSV trial is among the studies included in the CDR.

PIPELINE Virtual Learning Centre

The Virtual Learning Centre is a central hub for recommended training courses, tools and resources designed to strengthen the network’s capacity to conduct high-quality (adaptive platform) trials. It supports site staff in maintaining readiness, expanding expertise, and responding rapidly when research activation is needed.
